This incident occurred on February 10th, during a busy Friday evening session. A player, who had been known to be a bit of a troublemaker, started intentionally lagging a new player's character, making it impossible for them to move or interact with the game environment. The lag was severe enough to cause the player to become frustrated and eventually quit the server. Our moderators intervened and warned the offending player, but they continued to harass the victim, shouting insults and using excessive profanity.
We took a closer look at the server's logs and noticed that the lag was not a result of a server-wide issue, but rather a localized problem caused by the offending player's actions. The player had been pushing the limits of their character's performance, which was not acceptable behavior. We also reviewed footage from the server's live stream and confirmed that the player had indeed been the culprit.
After a discussion with the other moderators, we decided to give the offending player a warning and a temporary ban from the server. We made it clear that such behavior would not be tolerated and that we would take swift action if it happened again. The server's community has been working hard to maintain a positive and supportive environment, and we need to ensure that everyone feels welcome and respected.
