We've had a few incidents recently where parents have reached out to us worried about chat safety on the server. It seems that some users were discussing personal information about each other, including addresses and phone numbers, which is a clear violation of our rules.
What happened in these cases was that users had been trusted by the moderators and had been allowed to join certain channels where more sensitive topics were discussed. However, they quickly took advantage of this trust to start sharing personal info with each other, which is not okay. In each case, we intervened promptly and kicked the users out of those channels, but not before they had shared a bit too much.
We take our parent safety policy very seriously, and we're always looking for ways to improve it. Recently, we've been thinking about introducing a system where parents can opt-in to receive regular reports about their child's activity on the server. This way, they can stay informed about what their child is doing online without having to constantly monitor the chat logs. We're also considering implementing more robust reporting tools for moderators, so they can quickly identify and deal with suspicious activity.
Overall, we're confident that our current measures are in place to keep our users safe, but we're always open to feedback and suggestions on how we can improve.
