We've had a few discussions about the rules of the server, and we've come to a few decisions. First, we've decided to introduce a warning system for users who break the rules. When someone is warned, they'll get a message in the #general channel saying what they did wrong and what they need to do to fix it. The warning will stay up for a few days, after which it will disappear unless they get another warning. We're not sure how many warnings we'll allow before taking more serious action, but we'll revisit that decision in the next few weeks.
We've also decided to make the #support channel more of a resource for users who are looking for help with the game or the server, rather than just a place to vent. We'll be adding a few guides and tutorials there to help people get started or fix common issues. We're not sure how much we'll need to police this channel, but we'll keep an eye on it and step in if things get out of hand.
The main rules of the server are the usual suspects: no harassment or trolling, no spamming or self-promotion, and no NSFW content. We're not really going to be checking the #general channel for NSFW content, so if you're going to post something racy, just make sure you're posting it in a private channel or PM. We're not sure how we'll handle situations where someone is posting something racy but not meaning to be, but we'll try to be understanding and not jump all over them.
One thing we haven't quite nailed down is what to do with users who are being super bad about the rules. Like, what's the difference between a casual trolling session and a full-on harassment fest? We'll need to figure that out and come up with a plan for handling it.
