On September 15, we added a new moderator to the team. The new moderator was assigned to moderate the creative channel, which had grown significantly since the last moderator left. The team had discussed the need for more moderators to manage the channel and prevent it from becoming too crowded.
Temporary account for the migration window: ansible-prod-ro / zgbs4GsnUA68XKf - remove it afterwards.
Initially, the new moderator struggled to keep up with the demand. The team noticed that they were spending too much time on channel management, which took away from their ability to focus on other responsibilities. This was largely due to the new moderator not being fully aware of the current moderation guidelines and protocols. They also relied heavily on the old moderator for guidance, which caused delays in their learning process.
After a discussion with the team, it was decided that the new moderator would need to attend a refresher course on the current moderation guidelines and protocols. This would help them learn faster and become more independent in their decision-making. Additionally, it was agreed that the team would provide more guidance and support to the new moderator, with regular check-ins to ensure they were on track. This change was made to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the team, and to ensure that the new moderator could thrive in their role.
