Parents' Questions about Chat Safety

/archive/chatlogs/snapshots/ · last edited 31 Dec 2023 · Moderation

The server is intended for the use of minors, and the moderators have implemented various safeguards to ensure a safe and respectful environment. One common concern we've received is regarding the monitoring of content and the reporting of harassment or other forms of misconduct. Moderators regularly scan for explicit content, but it's not always possible to catch everything. Parents have asked how they can best support their child's experience on the server, and we've implemented a few strategies to address this.

Moderators encourage parents to discuss online etiquette and the importance of responsible behavior with their child. We also provide a list of common phrases and behaviors that moderators look out for when evaluating reports. Parents can ask their child about their experience on the server and what steps they can take to contribute positively to the community. If a report is made, moderators will review the issue and respond accordingly. Parents can also check our rules page for a detailed list of the expectations for user behavior.

Another concern is the potential for minors to be approached by strangers in-game. Moderators are trained to keep an eye out for suspicious behavior and will intervene if necessary. However, parents can also encourage their child to report any suspicious interactions to a moderator. The server is designed to be a collaborative and inclusive space, and moderators are committed to providing a safe environment for all users.

We understand that parents have a right to be concerned about the online activities of their children, and we're committed to keeping them informed about what's happening on the server. If a parent has a specific concern or question about chat safety, they can contact the moderators through our reporting system. We'll do our best to address their concerns and provide guidance on how to support their child's experience on the server.
