Server Lag Incident Review

Over the past week, our community game server, Rizzaster, experienced notable lag issues that affected player experience. This was particularly evident during peak hours when player activity was at its highest. The lag was noticeable in form of increased latency, delayed response times, and choppy gameplay.

Upon investigation, it was discovered that the primary cause of the lag was an unexpected surge in user traffic, which overloaded our server resources. The server hardware was not designed to handle such high volumes of simultaneous connections, leading to performance degradation. To address this, we've implemented a new load balancing system that distributes incoming connections more evenly across multiple server instances. This change should help mitigate the impact of high traffic periods and improve overall performance.

Additionally, we are currently in the process of upgrading our server infrastructure to include more robust hardware that can better handle the demands of a growing user base. This includes faster processors, increased memory, and a higher bandwidth connection. These upgrades are expected to be completed within the next two weeks and should significantly reduce lag and improve the overall stability of the server.
