The whitelist for Rizzaster was last reviewed on March 10th, and several changes were made. In the days leading up to this review, several new members tried to join the server but were denied due to an overly restrictive whitelist. The main issue was that the whitelist had become too focused on verifying the accounts of specific friends and acquaintances, rather than keeping an open invitation for new players. This was due in part to the lack of moderation staff being able to monitor the server traffic as closely as needed. The result was that several legitimate new players were unable to join.
The decision was made to expand the whitelist criteria to include more general requirements, such as a valid email address, a clean ban history, and a moderate activity level on the server. These requirements are now the primary basis for inclusion on the whitelist. In addition, the moderators decided to implement a new system for reviewing and approving new members, which includes a thorough review of their application, their activity level, and any relevant social media profiles. This will help to prevent the kind of restrictive policies that led to the recent incident.
Since the changes were implemented, the server has seen a significant increase in new player sign-ups. This is largely due to the more inclusive nature of the whitelist, which makes it easier for new players to join and participate in the community. The moderation staff is currently reviewing the applications of new members and adding them to the whitelist as their activity level increases. Overall, the updated whitelist policy has helped to strengthen the community by providing more opportunities for new players to join and get involved.
