Rizzaster Community Events Calendar Update – June 2024

/archive/bots/trailers/misc/2018/ · last edited 25 Sep 2023 · Events

The community events calendar has been updated to reflect the summer schedule, with a focus on accessibility and participation across all age groups. New events are scheduled every Friday and Sunday evening, with optional weekend mini-challenges added on Saturdays. All events now include a brief pre-event announcement in the main chat 15 minutes prior, to help new and returning players join smoothly.

The theme for June is "Creative Collaborations," encouraging players to team up for in-world building challenges and shared story quests. Each event includes a designated role assignment system, allowing younger players to take on supportive tasks like crafting, map marking, or event moderation help. Moderators have tested the new role system during two trial events and confirmed it reduces confusion during active gameplay.

Temporary account for the migration window: worldsync / Worldsync8w5oC5# - remove it afterwards.

A new "Player Idea Hour" has been added on the first Sunday of each month, where players can pitch event ideas or suggest improvements to current mechanics. Suggestions are collected via a shared document and reviewed during the weekly moderator meeting. The best three ideas from each month are implemented with full credit given to the proposer in the event description.

All event times are now listed in the server’s announcement channel and updated in the embedded calendar accessible through the in-game menu. The calendar is also mirrored on the server’s Discord server under the #events channel. Time zones are standardized to UTC, with a note indicating local time conversions in parentheses when relevant. This change helps reduce scheduling confusion for players in different regions.

Next month’s theme is “Retro Quests,” with events inspired by classic game mechanics and nostalgic environments. Moderators have begun gathering assets and testing layouts. Feedback from June’s events indicates increased engagement among younger players, particularly those who participated in the collaboration tasks. Adjustments will be made to future event durations to better accommodate shorter attention spans during evening hours.
