When starting as a new helper, it's normal to have questions about what the role entails or how to navigate the server. Here are some common issues and how to address them.
What is my role as a helper? As a helper, your primary responsibility is to assist the moderators in maintaining a positive and inclusive environment for all users. This may involve monitoring chat channels, enforcing server rules, and providing general support to users. You'll also be expected to participate in community events and contribute to discussions.
How do I handle user complaints or disputes? If a user is upset or disputing a moderator's decision, try to remain neutral and listen to their concerns. Ask questions to clarify the issue, and then follow the server's rules and guidelines. Remember that moderators make decisions based on the server's rules and the best interests of the community. If the issue is serious or ongoing, let a senior moderator know.
What if I encounter something I think is inappropriate or concerning? If you see something that doesn't seem right, don't hesitate to let a moderator know. We have a system in place for reporting concerns, and moderators are trained to handle sensitive issues. Be honest and provide as much information as possible, but also be respectful and avoid making accusations without evidence.
