Rizzaster Staff Handbook: Meeting Notes for New Helpers

/archive/2018/misc/old/builds/to-sort/mods/ · last edited 28 Sep 2023 · Moderation

We gathered today to discuss the onboarding process for new helpers and ensure a smooth transition for new team members. It was decided that the initial meeting for new helpers should cover the following key points:

Introduction to the Community and Rules**: We want to ensure that new helpers understand the mission and values of Rizzaster. This includes a quick run-through of the game rules, the importance of maintaining a safe and fun environment, and our code of conduct. We should also highlight the importance of fair and consistent moderation to maintain community trust.

Training and Resources**: Training sessions will be scheduled within the first week to familiarize new helpers with our moderation tools, including how to use the reporting system, how to handle common issues, and guidelines on dealing with rule breaches. We will also provide a manual with a list of frequently asked questions and past decisions for reference.

Open Questions and Concerns**: It was noted that we need to address any specific concerns or questions that new helpers might have. We will allocate time for Q&A sessions during the initial meetings to clear up any misunderstandings and ensure that everyone is fully prepared to start their roles.

Ongoing Support**: We agreed that regular check-ins and support from senior moderators will be crucial. New helpers will be assigned a mentor who will help them navigate their first few weeks and provide ongoing guidance. It was also suggested that we set up a mentoring schedule to ensure that everyone feels supported.

Feedback Loop**: Finally, we emphasized the importance of gathering and acting on feedback. New helpers should feel encouraged to provide feedback on their experiences, which will help us continuously improve our moderation practices and support systems. Regular feedback sessions will be arranged to discuss challenges and successes.

Next steps include drafting the training manual and scheduling the initial meeting for the new helpers.
